IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR WEEKEND TRAINING:
There will be a freestyle competition this weekend and therefore the room will not be available.
Athletes may use the basement to get ready and store their belongings.
Lodge Parent will still need to carry a radio and we ask that you ensure the basement is clean when we leave for the day.
Thank you for your cooperation.

RED DEER SKI CLUB UPDATES
February 15, 2012
CASINO:
Our casino is this week on February 16th and 17th. Thank you so much to everyone that has signed up to take a shift and special thanks to Kelly Becker for coordinating the event.
We are still in need of a countroom person and a backup person for Thursday evening. Please email Kelly at kellybecker@me.com if you can help out.
The schedule for the 2 days has been sent out. If you are unsure of your shift or cannot make your shift please reply to this email. All shifts must be filled.
The casino is a very important fundraiser, it brings in alot of money to help fund the club and we only receive it every 2 years so we really need everyone to help out.
FAMILY RACE DAY/POTLUCK:
Our annual Family Race Day and Potluck will take place on Family Day, February 20th.
This is a fun family event for everyone. We will hold a race where athletes will team up with family members and combine their times for the trophies awarded at the end of the year. The trophies are:
FASTEST FEMALE & PARENT
FASTEST MALE & PARENT
FASTEST FAMILY DUO
We will also hold a POTLUCK that day.
If your last name begins with A-M please bring a main dish.
If your last name begins with N-Z please bring a salad, fruit tray, squares or cookies.
To ensure that there is enough food for everyone we are asking that you bring enough to feed 6-8 people.
The race will begin at 10:00AM and lunch will follow. When you arrive in the morning check in at the table to receive your bib. If you have a family member that is racing but not a paid member (ie: sibling not registered with the club) they will need to sign a waiver.
We hope to see you all there.

February 10, 2012
SATURDAY TRAINING:
There is an expected windchill tomorrow morning of -30, however the forecast is calling for sunshine and -15 in the afternoon. Therefore we will postpone training until 11:00am tomorrow. Please watch for updates in the morning in case there is a change of plans.
AB WINTER GAMES:
Our regional and mountain series K1 athletes are currently in Edmonton competing at the Alberta Winter Games. Best of luck to all of them and to the chaperons and coaches as well.
MISSING POLES FROM OUR RACE:
We received a message that an athlete from another club took home their pole and another racer’s pole that was similar. It was a SL racing pole. Please check and make sure that you have 2 of your own poles and if you do not please contact us right away so we can get both racer’s their correct poles.
CASINO:
Our much anticipated casino dates are fast approaching on February 16th and 17th. If you have not taken a shift please contact our coordinator Kelly Becker at kellybecker@me.com right away. We are still in need of volunteers on Thursday and Friday and it is mandatory that we fill all shifts. Thank you so much for your help with this very worthwhile fundraising event.
See you on the slopes!
